Egg Reading

Given only once a year, and only on Good Friday, these special readings have been in Melody's family for generations and have become a tradition for friends, family members and clients. This is the only time of the year when Melody gives a reading to a family member.
An ordinary egg is held in your hand for a period of time, the energy you give off is slowly absorbed by the egg. The egg is than cracked open into a glass of water and left alone until it starts forming a three dimensional floating image. Melody uses her psychic abilities to interpret the uniquely formed image into a reading. She also gives Egg Readings remotely; this is done by attaching a photo and name of the person receiving the reading on the glass.
This works like the water crystal experiments of Masaru Emoto where he exposes water in glasses to different words, pictures, or music and then freezing and examining the aesthetics of the resulting crystals with microscopic photography.
These readings are just another powerful tool Melody’s uses to give deeper insight into your journey through this life.

Heaven or Hell?

A short story dedicated to my dog Mojo who passed on suddenly last night.

Heaven or Hell?

An old man and his dog were walking along a country road, enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to the man that he was actually dead.

He remembered dying, and that his dog too had been dead for many years. He wondered where the road would lead them, and continued onward.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill a tall white arch that gleamed in the sunlight broke it. When he was standing before it, he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother of pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold.

He was pleased that he had finally arrived at heaven, and the man and his dog walked toward the gate. As he got closer, he saw someone sitting at a beautifully carved desk off to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, but is this heaven?"

"Yes, it is, sir," the man answered.

"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.

"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up." The gatekeeper gestured to his rear, and the huge gate began to open.

"I assume my friend can come in?" the man asked, gesturing toward his dog.

But the reply was "I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought about it then thanked the gatekeeper, turned back toward the road, and continued in the direction he had been going.

After another long walk, he reached the top of another long hill, and he came to a dirt road that led through a farm gate.

There was no fence, and it looked as if the gate had never been closed, as grass had grown up around it. As he approached the gate, he saw a man just inside, sitting in the shade of a tree in a rickety old chair, reading a book.

"Excuse me!" he called to the reader. "Do you have any water?"

"Certainly, There's a pump over there," the man said, pointing to a place that couldn't be seen from outside the gate. Come on in and make yourself at home."

"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog "He's welcome too, and there's a bowl by the pump," he said.

They walked through the gate and, sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a dipper hanging on it and a bowl next to it on the ground. The man filled the bowl for his dog; he then took a long drink himself.

When both were satisfied, he and the dog walked back toward the man, who was sitting under the tree waiting for them, and asked, "What do you call this place?"

"This is heaven," was the answer.

"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "It certainly doesn't look like heaven, and there's another man down the road who said that place was heaven."

"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates?"

"Yes, it was beautiful."

"Nope. That's hell."

"Doesn't it offend you for them to use the name of heaven like that?"

"No. I can see how you might think so, but it actually saves us a lot of time. They screen out the people who are willing to leave their best friends behind."

Smithtown psychic says she foresaw failure of Wall Street bailout plan
By Jennifer Choi

In this time of economic crisis, people are not only turning to financial advisers for help, they are also seeking advice from psychics.

"When things are bad, I'm usually busier," said psychic Melody Bard of Smithtown. "People are in a lot of pain right now."

According to Bard, whose clients have recently sought financial guidance from her, the current economic conditions will worsen before they improve. Some people will become "really poor," she noted, citing the era of the 1920s leading to the Great Depression.

During an interview Monday at noon, the Smithtown psychic predicted that the $700 billion Wall Street bailout would not be approved by Congress, a vote scheduled for 1 pm that afternoon. At about 1:30 pm, officials announced that the bill had been defeated.

In addition to questions regarding their future financial status, clients also seek answers about love, health and relationships, said Bard. Having apprenticed for 20 years with her mother, Yolana, a professional psychic in Manhattan for 30 years, Bard started her own business two years ago. It's called Just One Melody.

"I was always able to do [psychic readings], but I didn't want to do it professionally at first," she said, adding that what she enjoys most is connecting families to the loved ones they have lost, a service she provides free of charge.

"It gives them closure and peace," she noted. "You have to give something back. That's what you're supposed to do with your gifts."

According to Bard, who resides in Smithtown with her husband, John, and 14-year-old twins, Alex and Noelani, she cannot provide psychic readings for any of her family members because "emotions get in the way." The key to accurate readings lies in remaining nonanalytical and unbiased, she said, a feat difficult to accomplish when emotions are involved.

In terms of physical conditions, "I can see the body inside," Bard said, citing a client who was hospitalized after a gall bladder attack, a health concern mentioned during a previous psychic reading. However, "some things I can't see because I'm not meant to see it," she noted, because destiny still plays a part in shaping one's life.

"I don't think there are coincidences," she added. "There's a reason for everything, good and bad."

Bard, whose brother, Ronald, is also a psychic in California, offers readings both in person and over the phone. For the latter, clients must send pictures of themselves and anyone else about whom they wish to learn. Full- and half-hour phone consultations are available, as are in-person sessions. For more information, visit www.justonemelody.com.

Once a client has received a reading, Bard said she does not encourage scheduling another consultation because it may not be necessary. Her advice to clients is: "I gave you a path. Now listen to your own instincts."

In addition to providing psychic readings, Bard also visits homes to rid them of haunting spirits. She recently visited a house in Jericho where she immediately felt an "oppressive" force upon entering the attic, she said. She then returned to "bless" the home, which she believed was haunted by the spirit of a drug-abusing young man who was killed in an accident.

"People who are bad when they're alive are the same way when they die," the psychic said.

Upon completing the blessing successfully, both Bard and the homeowners realized that a dark shadow in the corner of the attic had disappeared, Bard said. "When I hear from people and they say they're doing well, I know that's what it's all about."

Preparing for a Reading

I have been answering a lot of questions lately on how to prepare for a reading. I generally work with objects or photos of people you are interested in knowing about, past or present. I don’t use props like Tarot cards etc. I will require a picture of you if the consultation is over the phone. Often Clients want to know about themselves and do not provide photos of people or pets that are close to them and that is fine; however providing photos of friends and loved ones that are close to you gives me more insight. The lives of these other beings affect your path in life and make up who you are and who you will become; like ripples in a pool of water, each one affecting the other.
My Phone Consultations are as affective as my in-person Readings. I will connect with you through your voice and image. You can use Email to send me your photos. At your request photos sent through regular mail will be returned to you with the only original audio cassette recording of the entire session.
Our time is short and the reading goes by very quickly so it is a great idea to have a list of important questions prior to the reading.
Finally I think it is worth mentioning the limitation of alcohol use prior to a reading; this has never really become an issue but it will affect the quality of your reading.

The Blue Island

I added a copy of this book, as a pdf file, on the home page of my website. http://melodybard.com/ It may take a few seconds to down load so be patient. My mother Yolana and I would hand this book out to people who were grieving the loss of a loved one. This book has been getting harder to come by as it is not in print anymore. Please feel free to use the link provided to access The Blue Island.

How to use a Pendulum

How to use a Pendulum

Pendulums can be used to access your subconscious mind. The flow of energy goes from your subconscious mind to your extremities and around your body. Tiny muscles in your fingertips are connected to the motor centers of the brain and it is these motor centers that are affected by subconscious thoughts. Your thoughts and words affect the flow of energy and the pendulum responds. To get started draw two lines in the shape of a cross on a piece of paper. One line will be labeled YES and the other will be labeled NO. Next calibrate your pendulum by asking it a set of a few known questions. Start by asking it is my name _________? Am I sitting down? Is the world flat? Don't try to make the pendulum move, nor try to hold it still. It should just start to swing. The direction it swings in will determine if that line is a YES or a NO. So label it accordingly. When you get the correct answers to the rest of your known questions, your pendulum will be calibrated. Ask what you want to know the answer to. Stop each time before asking it the next question. Now hold your pendulum, if you're right handed, place your right elbow on the table with your forearm and hand extended above the chart. Spread the chain of the pendulum over your right forefinger and hold it in place with your thumb so that the point of the pendulum is suspended an inch over the center of the chart. Pendulums can be used for personal answers and practical questions as well. For instance if you lost your keys. Ask: are my keys in the house? Are my keys at work? Are my keys in my bag? Keep in mind not to ask the pendulum if you love your spouse after he or she might have upset you by forgetting to put the ice cream back in the freezer. You may get a NO. Do not be general with your questions, be as specific as possible. For instance, fire can be both good and bad. Remember to stay away from drugs and alcohol before using this device. It will interrupt with the positive flow of energy. There are many other uses of your pendulum; this is a good starting point.

Melody's Vision

by Nelressa Monique http://www.health-prism.com/spirit_melodys-vision.html

Melody's Vision

Psychics can bring insight to your success in finance, career, love life, family, health issues, spirituality, and more.

When you think of the word psychic, what comes to your mind? Usually for me it would conjure up thoughts about crystal balls, colourful stones or gypsy-dressed women loosely hanging out in front of the doorway, trying to lure innocent passer-by into their den of deception [Okay, a little over the top… but this is what I picture].

Ben’s Lead

I met a gentleman Ben, recently, at an art exhibition held at the Philippine Embassy in New York City, US. Something was different about Ben, which isn't saying much since most people in NYC are “different.” But, he was different in a sense that his warm demeanour was genuine and sincere, uncommon in the cut-throat jungle that is NYC.

We got into a conversation, and exchanged our telephone numbers and promised to keep in touch. By the end of the following week we'd made plans to meet up with each other and his employer, a celebrity psychic named Melody Bard.

"Celebrity psychic, what does that mean?" I thought to myself. Apparently, his employer has sure worked with the wealthiest international investors and well-known celebrities in the world. When I heard the confidential client list, I was impressed. It changed my perception of Melody, but the psychic ability part I wasn't so convinced yet.

Before going to meet with Melody I wondered what a true psychic really does -- what is their job occupancy? Like I mentioned, at this point, they all represented the modern day peasants of society who believed in celebrating Halloween everyday of the year, dressed in costume and wanting “tricks and treats” in the form of cash. Either way, I decided to keep my scepticism to a bare minimum, just in case she truly was a psychic and could pick up my negative thoughts.

That Friday afternoon I came to her office located on Park Avenue in the heart of the busiest and richest corner of Manhattan -- lots of money is exchanged daily. I was quite impressed by the location of her office.

I met up with Ben, who is Melody's Personal Assistant and friend, and took the elevator to the 16th floor where her office is located. After stepping off the elevator and entering glass doors to be greeted by an affectionate secretary and a plush receptionist area, could you believe I actually felt a bit disappointed because I didn't see any of the expected cheap drapery, tranquillity fountains, harp instrumentals and bad interior design you might find in a “psychic shop” like on TV?

Moments later we walked down a long corridor and entered Melody's office, which to me [surprise] did have the crystals and water fountain, but only as an added ambience to the dimly-lit room.

Melody’s Magic

Melody was of average height, sporting normal attire [jeans and a white blouse], sandals, and full of personality. She had lots of spunk and charisma in the way a favourite aunt or cousin might greet you. We spoke briefly, but connected right away. After laughing and joking with her, I felt very comfortable. Then, all of a sudden, she stopped speaking, lowered her head, closed her eyes and proceeded to blow my socks off.

One after the other, Melody would tell me explicit details about the people in my life and intimate facts that only a lover would know. At times the information came so unexpectedly I felt like I was slowly being undressed, piece by piece, with no control of the sudden exposure. I was shocked and amazed by the amount of accuracy she was able fill me with -- from my father's illness with diabetes to my future love life… to my career which would take me around the world. Currently, I am South Korea for a year to work as a copyeditor for children's books and test curricula.

I was so excited hearing the information she told me and the interesting people I would soon meet. "My life sounds so interesting," I told Melody. It felt like listening to a preview of a courageous “rags-to-riches” story soon-to-be-released at the theatres where the main starring actress was me. I truly understood at that moment why celebrities and clients from overseas travelled once a year to be “read” by Melody -- she is brilliant.

About Melody Bard

Melody Bard comes from a long line of psychics. She is the daughter of the famous world psychic medium Yolana who precisely named the location of the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein before his capture. Melody apprenticed with her mother for nearly twenty years and assumed her business and clients in 2007. She's worked with the renowned parapsychologist, Han Holzer, PhD, not to speak of a confidential high-profile list of diplomats, law officials, CEOs, and entertainers.

Melody practices in New York. She is open to the public for psychic readings, paranormal investigations, and dream interpretations. For more information about Melody and her practice visit: www.justonemelody.com or Justonemelody@yahoo.com

Hour Of Amazement

After an hour of amazement and fascination with Melody's “reading” she cut the recorder off [yes, I have evidence] and she said it was time to go. I didn't want it to end, the feeling of joy and self-love filled me from within. All I could muster up between my tightly-arched grin was, "Wow…thank you…Wow…thank you..." I felt very much rejuvenated mentally, with lots of esteem and love. Melody gave me a potion of encouragement, joy and happiness filled to the brim, needing to be spread to others for uplifting and nurturing. I wanted more, but our time was through. In a matter of an hour my life changed dramatically for the better. I felt I could do and accomplish anything.

Upon leaving, I again thanked Melody and Ben for their time and gave each of them a huge hug. I left that afternoon feeling so spiritually uplifted that I glowed from the inside out. I left behind my rags of scepticism about psychics forever.

A legitimate psychic who can bring insight to success in your finances, career, love life, family, health issues, spirituality and more -- who would have thought this really existed? Melody not only helped me with spirituality and empowerment but, in turn, I was able to share the good feeling [happy-high as I like to refer to it] with others. She saw that I like to help others and her God-given talent helped me to continue my mission of helping.

If God gave us the talents to build bridges, towers, computers, and airplanes along with the creativity of dancing, writing, singing, sculpting, why should it be any different with psychics who hold the power to see our lives at a higher level?

Maybe it is true: psychics are tapped into [the other] 90 per cent of our brain power that we do not use. I no longer doubt psychic ability from my personal experience with Melody and feel their ability to help others to love themselves and use their own potential as being the greatest power and gift a person can give.

Unlike a counsellor, life coach or even a psychologist, psychics aren't speculating about what your life will bring. They let you know exactly how wonderful you already are and what great wonders you will achieve in your lifetime -- to make this world an even better place to live.

Kings Park Psychiatric Center

Established in 1885 as an asylum and left abandoned since 1996. Pictured here is building 93.
After haven driven by this building a number of times, I often pick up a lot of paranormal activity. While driving home from a restaurant with my family I was on St. Johnland Road, when we all witnessed an apparition near this building. We saw an old woman dressed in black with a ghostly white face, she was hunched over holding what looked like a lantern. We passed her by on the road and thought it was unusual, after slowing down and looking in my rear view mirror she had vanished. Although I have never been inside, this is a very interesting place and I would love to investigate it further.

Salem Mass.

Me during a recent trip to Salem, If you ever get a chance to visit, be careful at John Hathorne's house, Nathaniel Hawthorne's Great-Great Grandfather, AKA the Hanging Judge. I picked up very negative spiritual activity and felt ill untill I left. Otherwise Salem is a great place and I cant wait to go back.

Peahen (female peacock)

I was sitting at home feeling a bit depressed over the passing of my Mother. I had been asking her to send me a sign that she hears me. I than turn my head up to look out of my skylight, and I see what appears to be a peacock. I quickly grabbed my camera and took these shots.
I am happy to report that my peahen is still visiting me and my family. Every time I see her I remember my mother and I know she is watching over me.

The Merchant House Museum
